One of the queer cultural events that we’d been looking forward to in London was an all-male production of the Gilbert and Sullivan classic – H.M.S. Pinafore.
H.M.S. Pinafore is a classic musical created by W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan. For this revised production, director Sasha Regan had dialled-up the queer with an all-male cast.
Set on a World War II ship, the troops set out to amuse themselves in a distraction from the goings on above board. The captain’s daughter has fallen for a lower-class sailor, but what lies in store for the lass and her hearty seafarer?
The production had been scheduled to open in London on 15 April, followed by a UK-wide tour.
Unfortunately – like pretty much everything else in our life at the moment – the production has had to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 restrictions.
Hopefully we’ll get a chance to see the boys of H.M.S. Pinafore at some point in the future.
Regan De Wynter Williams Productions Ltd. are very disappointed to announce that owing to Coronavirus (COVID-19), they are cancelling the production of Sasha Regan’s All-Male H.M.S. Pinafore at Wilton’s Music Hall from 15th April – 9th May.
